Obituary of Sandra Carol Elfstrom

Elfstrom, Sandra Carol of Eden Prairie, MN age 71, passed away July 5, 2022 after a valiant battle with breast and brain cancer.   Preceded in death by her parents Bette and Wallace Van Liere.   Survived by loving husband of 50 years, Steve, daughters Kiera Sosinski (Drew), Briana Holland (Erik) and Jocelyn Brucker (Dustin).   Adoring grandchildren Reichen and Audrey Sosinski and Quinn and Vivienne Brucker and brothers Keith (Cheryl), Kent (Jennifer) and Ross Van Liere.  Also survived by sister-in-law Jean Wiklund and many nieces and nephew.

Sandy was a strong fighter and her will to spend time doing what she loved a has left a mark on her many friends and family.  She was the only daughter of four siblings and had many stories of the adventures with her brothers on Lake Minnetonka.   She met Steve at Hamline University and married.  After a brief adventure in Rapid City where they made some lifelong friends, they settled in Eden Prairie.   Sandy was known for her amazing spaghetti dinners where she would open her house to friends and family to share stories and laughter around the dinner table.   Many of her and her daughter’s friends have anecdotes from one of those events.  While her career was a Project Manager, her passion was quilting, and she is best known for teaching Bernina classes, enjoying her time at quilt stores and her many quilting friends.

A celebration of her life will be Thursday, July 21st at Family of Christ Lutheran Church, Chanhassen, MN.   Visitation will begin at 11:00am.  Service at noon.  A reception to follow for family and friends
