Obituary of Kenneth Wayne Armstrong
Kenneth Wayne Armstrong passed away peacefully on June 30, 2022 at Twin Ports Health Services at the age of 98 surrounded by his family.
Ken was born to Lee Eugene Armstrong and Alice Mabel Palmer on May 30,1924 in Spirit Lake, Iowa. Ken was a proud husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He was a loving, giving man, with a heart of gold and an incredible sense of humor and wit.
Ken served in World War II in the United States Army in his young adulthood then went on to be an over the road truck driver. Ken was a man who always liked to stay busy. He remained working up until the age of 87 when he finally decided it was time to retire. In his spare time he enjoyed woodworking, strumming on his guitar, spending time with family, sharing his life stories and driving his side by side down the country roads.
He is preceded in death by his parents and beloved wife, Grace Armstrong.
He is survived by his children Janet(Ronald) Geitner, Rhonda (Kenneth) Mack, Steven(Glenda) Pede and Lori (David) Schweikert; His grandchildren Jennifer(Brian) Geitner, Andrea(Bill) Wade, Ann(Branden) Nollet, Neil(Mary)Pede, Daniel Mack, Ashley(Ryan) Dolsen and his great-grandchildren Kendric VanderVeen, Mason Nollet, Evan Nollet, Gracie Wade, Bryce Lancour, Cora Lancour and Daniel Pede.
A celebration of Ken’s life will take place at a later date. A special thank you to the staff at Twin Ports Health Services whom were so very special to Ken and to Essentia Hospice for providing Ken with exceptional care.
