Lillian Mildred Bellamy

(Sunrise)October 6, 1933 (Sunset)July 1, 2022

On Friday July 1st 2022 Lillian Mildred Bellamy passed away peacefully after a lengthy bout with numerous health issues. She was the loving mother of: Nancy (Bellamy) Knox, Richard Bellamy, Benjamin J. Bellamy III, Christopher Bellamy, Denice (Bellamy) Muellner, and Grandmother to: Alysha Bellamy, Natalie Bellamy, Nathan Knox, Ellen Bellamy and Gabrielle Muellner.

Lillian was born in Faribault, Minnesota on October 6th 1933. She and her family moved to St. Paul, MN, where she eventually pursued a career in the medical field and became a Nursing Assistant at Miller Hospital.

Later, she married Benjamin J. Bellamy Jr. Shortly thereafter, she retired to focus on raising her 5 children.

Lillian was a woman of deep religious belief, courage and morals—praying several times daily.

She loved nature and animals. Her interests were vast, from doing crafts such as knitting and scrapbooking, to closely following world history and events.

She was a true Renaissance woman! One day she would be fixing the TV and painting the entire living room. The next day she would be teaching her children Shakespeare. She also enjoyed watching mysteries and Sci-Fi Shows like Star Trek and Stargate.

But most of all, our Mother Loved, Loved children! She cared for many children in the neighborhood besides her own—offering love, support and a listening ear.

She was preceded in death by her mother Zanthia Attrie (Freeze)-Stone, her father Marion Stone, and her children John and Marion Bellamy.

She is survived by her children Nancy, Richard, Benjamin, Christopher and Denice, her five grandchildren, her sister Ann Elizabeth (Sims)-Thomas and her nephews: Marc Thomas, Scott Thomas and Aaron Thomas. She is further survived by her first cousins: Richard Wright, MD, Deborah Freeze, Richard Freeze, Mary-Jane Spriggs, John Spriggs, Jr., Stephanie (Reed) Price and Leighton Freeze.

She enjoyed the last few years, staying with her son Christopher Bellamy and his wife Trish as her primary caregivers along with the loving care provided by her daughters Nancy and Denice. Additional care was provided by Home care teams.

Those of us who knew Lillian, even a little bit, are honored to continue the legacy of love she had for humanity.

Please pass this announcement on to anyone who was unable to attend. Thank you for all your expressions of love, kindness, sympathy and support. We greatly appreciate it! We also extend our gratitude to Mercy Home Care staff as well as the medical staff at Regions Hospital. God bless you all!
