Obituary of Lloyd Oliver Ellingson

Lloyd Oliver Ellingson passed away peacefully on April 17, 2022, at the age of 88 years old, three days after his birthday. We were so thankful to be able to spend one more with him. He was a loving husband, Father, Grandfather and Great Grandfather and will be dearly missed by all who loved him.

Lloyd was born to Oliver and Alfreda Ellingson on April 14th, 1934, in Minneapolis, MN. He graduated from Vocational High school. Lloyd was a Private in the Army from 1953-1957 and was stationed at Fort Hood. Lloyd was also stationed in Germany for a period of time while in the army. Once he was out of the Army he went to work as an Architect and worked for many firms in the Minneapolis area. In 1959 he met the love of his life Patricia Jane Horn, and they were married on June 2, 1961. Lloyd and Pat were married sixty plus years until his death. They were members of the Sons of Norway Oslo Lodge # 2 where they made many long- lasting friendships. Lloyd loved to bowl, golf, play cards and spend time with his family. He especially loved to tell Ole and Lena jokes to make people laugh. He was a kind man and would help anyone in need. In his latter years he was a bus driver for the Eden Prairie School District.

He loved this job and all his fellow co-workers. He especially enjoyed the opportunity to bring the Football team to their games and chat with the coaches.

Lloyd is preceded in death by his parents, Oliver and Alfreda Ellingson, loving sister Bernice DePonti, brother in-law Angelo (Shorty) DePonti, and brother in-law Dr. Arthur Richardson. He is survived by his wife Patricia Ellingson, Sister Elvera Richardson, daughters Lori Anne, Jennifer (Andy) Rohde, Karen (Doug) Young and son Karl (Maureen) Ellingson. Niece Col. Ann Richardson (ret.) and Nephew George (Vicki) Richardson. His 9 Grandchildren and 8 Great Grandchildren.
