Obituary of John Edward Alberg
Alberg, John Edward age 67 of Minnetonka, passed away April 29, 2022. He was a chemical technician at Honeywell DSD, Alliant Techsystems, and Innovatech Labs for 43 years and was a graduate of St. Olaf College with a BA in Chemistry (1977). He was preceded in death by his father, Edward Alberg. He is survived by his mother Margaret, wife Michele, sons Miles and Thomas, and sisters Kay Alberg, Ann Alberg, and Jane (Alan) Humphrey and many nieces and nephews.
John loved being in nature, reading and listening to music, golfing with his summer Minnetonka league, and vacationing at state and national parks of the Southwest and Pacific Coast. He enjoyed jazz music, art museums, and was a musician in his youth with the Hopkins-Lindbergh High School bands and the band at St. Olaf as a trombonist.
He will be greatly missed by his many friends and his extended family of cousins and in-laws who held him near to their hearts as a brother.
John’s last days were eased with the care of Methodist Hospital and it is hospice services and the Little Hospice of Edina.
Memorials can be made to a charity of your choice, the Minnetonka Center for the Arts or the Walker Sculpture Garden to help support the arts in the Twin Cities.
A Memorial Gathering will be held on July 9, 2022 at 12:30 at the home of Peggy Alberg. Please contact Michele, Kay, or Ann Alberg for her address. Please let us know if you plan on attending. Food will be served and we hope that everyone will be able to attend. Come with great memories and stories that we can share to remember John and all that he meant to us.
