Obituary of Karen Margaret Ford

Karen Margaret Ford (nee Wolf), (78), of Champlin, Minnesota passed away peacefully in her sleep on April 26, 2022. She was preceded in death by her parents, Gordon and Delma Wolf.

Karen is survived by her best friend and loving husband of 58+ years, Dean Ford; her children, Deana Ford and David (Tracy) Ford ; grandchildren, Brett, Bobbi Rae (Ben), Ethan, Elli Rae; great grandchildren, Brody and Blair; sister, Yvonne (Ed) Yunker; sisters in-law, Shirley(Frank) Sayovitz, Linda Westvig and Myra Ford; brother in-law, Gene Menzel; special cousins, Curt and Margaret Powell, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Karen was a 1961 graduate of Brainerd Senior High School. She was always a blessing to others with a great positive attitude and an unwavering faith in her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Karen was an avid reader and gardener. She enjoyed bowling and camping with friends and fishing with Dean, especially when she out-fished him. Karen was always the planner and organizer making sure everything was just right, rarely the life of the party, but always the rock of the family. She loved planning trips and events with family and friends and events at the Applewood Pointe Cooperative in Champlin, where she spent her last years. To everyone that knew her, they would attest that she was the most kind and loyal person—she was also one of the most steadfast and stubborn. If you were in her heart, you were there forever.

A memorial celebration of life will be held on May 21, 2022 at 11:00AM with visitation at 10:00AM at Shepherd of the Grove Lutheran Church, 11875 West Eagle Lake Drive Maple Grove, Minnesota. Lunch to follow in the fellowship hall.
