Obituary of Colin Peter Reinsmoen
Born on November 12, 1979 in Minneapolis to parents Robert and Mary (Widell) Reinsmoen. Died accidentally at his home in Minneapolis on March 28, 2022 at age 42, from acute fentanyl poisoning. Survived by his parents, sisters Bridgette, Natalie, Holly and Joanna, nieces Ava, Vivienne, and Etta, nephews Fox, Teddy, and Ole, plus uncles, aunts, and many cousins. He was preceded in death by grandparents Jack and Kay Widell and Orland and Lois Reinsmoen, two uncles, one aunt, one cousin, and his best friend Jeff Schoen.
Colin attended elementary school in Minneapolis before the family moved to Chaska, MN, where he attended Guardian Angels Elementary, Chaska Middle School, and Chaska High School. He earned his GED shortly after leaving high school, then earned a diploma in Industrial Packaging from Hennepin Technical College in Eden Prairie, MN.
Colin enjoyed spending time with friends, listening to music, dancing, and attending concerts. He also enjoyed the outdoors, making two trips to the Boundary Waters for camping and fishing.
Colin struggled his entire life with severe social anxiety, which in later years led to depression, paranoia, and addiction, which he was unable to overcome despite multiple efforts to do so.
Colin will be dearly missed by his family and those who knew him well.
A reception will be held for family and friends on Saturday, May 14 at 2:00 pm at Cremation Society of MN, Edina chapel, 7110 France Ave, Edina MN 55435.
