Obituary of Shelvie Jean Olson

Shelvie Jean Olson (nee Panning) passed away on Monday, April 4, 2022 peacefully at home in St. Louis Park, Minnesota.  Born in Green Isle, Minnesota on March 3, 1939, she was the 10^th of 12 children.  She was an independent thinker, and a resilient survivor when life threw challenges her way.

A retiree from the U.S. Postal Service, Shelvie enjoyed traveling the United States and the world.  She also enjoyed a good jigsaw puzzle, and her crosswords.  She was a Bargain Hunter Extraordinaire, and she loved to laugh.

Shelvie was preceded in death by her husband Ken, parents Fred and Elsie, brothers Norman, Hillard, and LeRoy, and sisters Marlene and Harriet.  She is survived by her daughter and traveling companion Dawn, sisters Bernice, Verdilla, Marlys, Darlene and Sharon, brother Stanley (Mary Ann), sisters-in-law Muriel, Carol, Ginger, Barb (Augie), and many nieces and nephews.

A service for family and friends will be held Tuesday, April 19th at 11:00 at Cremation Society of Minnesota - First Memorial Funeral Center, 7110 France Avenue South, Edina, Minnesota.  Visitation prior to the service begins at 10:30, with lunch following the service.
