Obituary of Rose Louise Rogers

Rose Louise Rogers, aged 61, of Coon Rapids, MN passed away peacefully at home on April 1, 2022 after a courageous battle with cancer.

Rose was raised in Milwaukee, WI and attended Notre Dame High School, Class of 1979. In 1982, Rose enlisted in the Army and served until 1993. Some of her ribbons/medals include the following: National Defense Service Medal, Army Reserve Components Achievement Medal, and Army Service Ribbon. In 2000, she became an Executive Administrative Assistant at TCF Bank where she dedicated 19 years of her life. 

Two of Rose’s proudest accomplishments were receiving her Bachelor’s degree in Business at Cardinal Stritch University and Master’s degree in Legal Studies in Indigenous People Law at the University of Oklahoma College of Law. Some of her favorite pastimes included reading, baking, traveling, camping, and arts and crafts. She had a love for life and truly loved and appreciated her friends and family. 

Rose will be remembered for her sense of humor, spunky, cheerful attitude, and contagious laugh. She was preceded in death by her foster parents Tess and Ernest Zimmerman, and brother Alan Poole. She is survived by her daughters Rachel Boivin (Jim Sahatoo), René (Joel) Vaughan, and Rebecca Sobiech (Augustus Perez); her grandchildren Sonnylal, Joel and Faith, and her great-grandson Brayden; her devoted partner Marcel Madsen and their cat, Murphy. 

The funeral will be held April 22, 2022 at Cremation Society of Minnesota, LLC, 7835 Brooklyn Blvd, Brooklyn Park, MN 55445. Friends and other relatives please arrive at 12:00 PM for the visitation. The service will begin at 1:00 PM.
