Obituary of June Jean Audette
Audette, June June, of Blaine, MN (formerly of Robbinsdale), was a devoted and caring mother, grandmother and friend. She departed this world into God's hands on March 30, 2022 at White Pines Assisted Living of Blaine after a lengthy illness. June was born to Tony and Jean Melnyk on June 19, 1934 in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. She graduated with a degree in social work from the University of Manitoba in 1961, and shortly thereafter married Conrad Audette. Together they had three sons. In 1971, the Audette family relocated to Golden Valley, MN. There, June began a 38 year career in social work and family counseling, working initially for the Bridge for Runaway Youth, followed by over 20 years of service to the YMCA. After leaving the YMCA in 1995, she began a counseling practice, offering services to individuals and families who could not otherwise afford these services. She continued her service to the community until 2014. First and foremost, June loved and cared for her family. She was an incredibly positive and friendly person, always able to see the good in anyone she met. She provided a strong foundation for her sons and was there for them through the good times and bad. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, and long conversations over a cup of coffee. She loved classical music, which always filled her home. June is survived by sons Gerald of Blaine, Jonathan (Kristin Larson) of Lino Lakes, and Evan (Karen) of Crystal Lake, IL. Also left to cherish her memory are grandchildren Allison, Nathan, and Brian and step-grandson Peter Day. A private family service will be scheduled for a later date. Donations may be made to KSJN Public Radio in her memory.
