Obituary of Amy Wilcox
Amy Louise Wilcox (Brogla) was born on April 17, 1966 in Ames, Iowa to Pam Sclarow-Brogla and Marvin Sclarow. Amy enjoyed camping, biking, and snowmobiling with her family. She attended Glenwood High School and graduated in 1984. Amy was in varsity track and field, basketball, and was one of two girls who played on the boys hockey team. In 1984 Amy joined the Air Force and contributed 22 years of service while also raising a family. She retired from the U.S. Air Force Medical Corps, nutritional medicine, with the rank of Master Sergeant. Settling in Duluth, she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from St. Scholastica, volunteered with Loaves & Fishes and started a small permaculture farm. For the last three years Amy has been working with the Glenwood Historical Society to preserve the story of the local and global ski jumping events in Glenwood, MN during the 1930’s.
Amy Wilcox passed away Wednesday, February 23, 2022, at Solvay Hospice House. A celebration of Amy’s life will be held this spring (see her caringbridge site for details). She is survived by her parents, Pam and Paul Brogla, her brother, Christopher Brogla, her children Holland Wilcox and Paige Wilcox, and the many close friends she made everywhere life took her.
