Obituary of Donald Wesley Payne

 

Donald Wesley Payne was born on August 11, 1931, in Antigo, Wisconsin to Holly (Arveson) and Donald Payne. He grew up in Biloxi, Mississippi. He married Donna (Nelson) Payne,and later Married Sandy (Orvis) Payne. He had three children; Ronald Neumann, Doug Payne, and Leon Payne. He served in the U.S. Airforce for 20 years and retired in the capacity of Master Sergeant in 1969. He then moved to St. Paul, MN, where he remained until 2021. After moving to St. Paul he worked for Burlington Northern Railroad and retired in 1990. He enjoyed the many travels while serving in the military and later with his wife, playing darts, pool, cards, trying different cuisines, and spending time with family. Sadly we lost our husband, dad, and grandpa on March 7, 2022. He passed away at Maplewood Care Center after a brief illness with dementia. He is survived by his wife Sandy, three sons; Ronald (Lynn) Neumann, Doug (Sharon) Payne, and Leon (Shar) Payne; his grandchildren: Cynthia (Rodney) Hopkins, Douglas (Kristin) Neumann, Phillip (Alexis) Price, Sarah Payne, Andrew Payne, Leah (Ryan) Ausmus, Lucas (Clarissa) Payne; and great grandchildren. He is also survived by Sandy’s children: Laura Orvis, Troy Orvis, and grand-children. We know that Don’s beloved parents, brothers (Charles, and Robert) and grand-daughter, Stephanie

 

A celebration of life will be held on March 27, 2022, from 2-4p.m. , at the Cremation Society of Minnesota, 1979 Old Hudson Road, St. Paul, MN.
