Obituary of Thomas Jennings Schendel

Thomas Jennings Schendel 83, of Burnsville, MN was born on August 24,1938, and passed away on March 8, 2022. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ansel and Myrtle (Fischer) Schendel, brother Steve Schendel, and sister Mary Perez-Cajina.

Survived by his loving wife Mary Jo of 54 years, Daughters; Terri (Tom) Haapoja, Nicole (Tim) Johnson, Grandchildren; Josie, Jadyn, and Jake Johnson, Great Grandson; Lucas Johnson, Brothers Stan Schendel, John (Ida) Schendel and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A funeral will be held at Mary Mother of the Church in Burnsville on Saturday March 19th, 2022. Visitation at 10:00am, Funeral 11:00am.

Tom was the most generous person, loved helping people, treated everyone like family, and would do anything for anybody. He always had the biggest warm smile that was contagious. He loved hunting deer, grouse, pheasants, and elk. He also enjoyed fishing, snowmobiling, and spending time on the lake “up north”. Family was especially important to Tom, and he loved us all beyond measure. He will be deeply missed by all who were lucky enough to know him. Tom worked in real estate for over 50 years which lead his two daughters into real estate. He was a beloved mentor to many. His legacy will continue
