Obituary of Susan Pettit
Susan passed away February 25, 2022 at Fairview Ridges Hospital in Burnsville due to complications from her latest illness. She was born October 16, 1962 in Brainerd, MN to Chuck and Eileen Pettit. Sue graduated from Brainerd High School, finished college and started her career in Sales.
Her many interests included tennis, golfing, pickleball, the theater and traveling. Her E-bike was the latest passion and she loved getting out and exploring.
Susie’s family and friends were very important to her. They inspired her, loved her and were very helpful. The texts, zoom calls and visits meant so much. She loved her “kitties” Bella and Coco.
Sue loved volunteering and helping others. She was active in the recovery community and Recovery Church. She was a very good writer and used this gift to help others and herself. Sue was compassionate, loving, intelligent, accepting, generous, spirited, and a warrior.
Sue’s health battles were numerous and debilitating. In spite of these struggles, she was a fighter. Her attitude, optimism, Faith, and courage were an inspiration to us all.
Sue was loved greatly and will be deeply missed. She is survived by sisters Kathy (John) Hensel, Nancy (Craig) Holland, and brothers Mike (Lisa) Pettit and Jim Pettit along with nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
A memorial service will be held at 1pm on March 29th at the Recovery Church (Central Park Methodist Church) 253 State Street; St. Paul, MN. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Susan’s name can be made to the Recovery Church, the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation, or the Arthritis National Research Foundation. Arrangements are with the Cremation Society of MN.
