Obituary of Verna Mae Wood

Verna Wood, 84, of Circle Pines MN passed away peacefully in her home from cancer on Friday February 25, 2022.

Verna grew up in Pipestone, MN. She met the love of her life, Dennis, at a dance hall in Lynd and they were married in 1957 and moved to Anoka, MN. In 1963, they moved to their forever home in Circle Pines and raised their family. Verna was a stay at home mom until her children were grown at which time she worked a few jobs before retiring. Verna enjoyed spending time with her family in the outdoors through camping, fishing, and hunting. After retirement, they enjoyed spending winters on South Padre Island and summers at Mille Lacs. Verna loved her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren very much.

Verna was preceded in death by her husband, Dennis, parents William and Elizabeth Erks, sister in laws, Bonnie Erks, Melva (Eldridge) Daniels, Brother in laws Marvin and William Wood.

She is survived by her children Kathi (Jeff) Lee, son Doug (Pam), grandchildren Brandon (Karyssa), Dylan (Courtney), Dalton and Sophie, great grandchildren Adeline, Margaret, Zayne, Beauden, and Elouise, brother Harold, sister in law Sherlynn, nieces Dawn (Pat), Janet (Glenn), Jennifer, nephews Mark (Vicki), Merl (Lori), Jon (Kim), LaVonne, Linda, friend Maggie Jorgenson and many other friends and family.

Memorial Service to be held Friday, March 4, 2022 at St Mark Lutheran Church, Circle Pines, MN beginning at 2pm with visitation 1 hour prior and fellowship to follow.
