Obituary of John Bernard Kohrt

John Bernard Kohrt, 84, passed away peacefully on Tuesday morning, February 22, 2022, at St. John’s Hospital. He was born on March 4, 1937 in Ramsey County, MN. He was one of seven children of Fred and Verna Kohrt; Mary, Ruth, Betty, Sonny, Charlene and Jim.

He is survived by his three daughters, Barbara (Steve) Kearney, Debra (Dennis) Lynch and Lee (Dan) Garhofer. He had 9 grandchildren, Jason, Dennis Jr., Mark, Bradley, Sandra, Grant, Travis, Kathryn and Daniel and 12 great grandchildren with one on the way.

Our dad enjoyed reading books, Reader’s Digest, and the newspaper. He liked watching a variety of movies, especially westerns, and playing cribbage. When he was younger, he enjoyed fishing, camping, gardening, bike riding and playing softball.

John was a painter for many years and then was a caretaker before his retirement. He was very inventive and could fix just about everything, especially with duct tape.

His visitation and remembrance will be held on Wednesday, March 9th from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the Cremation Society of MN, 1979 Old Hudson Road, Saint Paul, MN 55119
