Obituary of Neil Norman Macrorie

Neil Norman Macrorie, age 82, passed away on February 4, 2022, at his home in Inver Grove Heights, Minnesota.

He was born in Appleton, Wisconsin to Leonard and Helen Macrorie. He grew up in Janesville, Wisconsin and after graduation he joined the Marines for two years. After returning, he went to the University of Wisconsin Madison and became an Electrical Engineer. He got a job at Univac in the Twin Cities and retired at age 60.

In his retirement he enjoyed traveling, biking, oil painting and spending time with family and friends.

Neil was preceded in death by his parents, and his sister Patricia Widen.

Neil is survived by his wife of 57 years, Susan Macrorie, his sister Gail (Robert) Heath, and his brother-in-law James Widen. He is also survived by his children Gretchen (Daryl) Nissen, Jill (Mark) Weegman, and David (Sarah) Macrorie along with grandchildren Sarah (Tyler) Brown and Andrew Nissen; Melissa, Hannah, and Julia Weegman; Arlo and Emma Macrorie; and great grandson Rowan Brown.

A private memorial service will be held in the Spring.
