Obituary of Timothy Whitney Desley
Timothy Whitney Desley Graphic Designer/Artist Tim passed peacefully Jan 25th 2022 after a long health battle. He is survived by his daughter Whitney Desley, his four sisters Louisa, Leah, Rachel, Becky and many loving nieces and nephews. Tim brought humor and joy to all he met. Born July 18, 1957 in Birmingham, Alabama his family soon moved to Minnesota, eventually landing in Rochester, MN where Tim spent most of his childhood. Art was always front and center in Tim’s life. He spent much of his time drawing and painting. He was chosen to do a mural for Mayo High School that adorned a large stairwell for many, many years. After graduating from Mayo High School in 1975, Tim attended Western Michigan University graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Art Education. Following graduation he moved to Minneapolis, MN where he pursued a career in the graphic arts. He worked as Visual Designer for Cray Computers and helped design the look of the supercomputer and many of its visual programs. He continued his professional career working with interactive programs. At one time corroborating on interactive displays for the Walker Museum in Minneapolis. Family and friends were always Tim’s priority. He met the love of his life Deborah while working in Minneapolis. They married in a celebration in San Francisco and welcomed a beautiful daughter, Whitney into their lives. Tim will always be remembered for his unique sense of humor and his gift of getting everyone in the room laughing with his great story telling. Please in place of flowers, donate to Whitney Desley
