Mathew Frank Krieger, 56, passed away unexpectedly on January 22, 2022 at home.
He is survived by his wife, Teri Krieger, of 33 years. His two Daughters Lauren Krieger (Ethan Rud), Erica Olson (Jake Olson) and Grandson Noah Rud. Siblings Connie (Steve) Flohrs, Dennis (Lisa) Krieger, Eileen (Tony) Hager, Janean (Chuck) Rossiter, Kathy Jo (Kelly) Gibbons. Many wonderful nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and cousins. Pets and grand pets: Bloo, Bear, Chevy, Gizmo, Kona, Binx, Toby, Daisy, Oreo & Peeka. Matt was preceded in death by his parents Phyllis & Burt Krieger, nephew Randy Hager, and Cousin Danny Robertson.
Matt was born in Denver, Colorado on April 17, 1965. Shortly after birth his family moved to Saint Paul, MN where he spent time with many friends being a “true Rice Streeter”. He graduated from Como High School where he was on the baseball and basketball teams.
After graduation he enjoyed hanging with his friend’s playing softball, horseshoes and driving his ’65 Pontiac Catalina. Matt also enjoyed his time going to the drag races in Brainerd and vacationing on Dead Lake with his family. He enjoyed watching wrestling, playing horseshoes, corn hole and yard Yahtzee and having bonfire nights with his family. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing and a cold beer or two. He was a proud grandpa to Noah and was looking forward to teaching him to fish and the fine art of horseshoes.
His simple caring acts like asking if he could get you something to drink or reminding his family when the Minnesota Wild are playing will be missed as will his fun nature. Have a beer for us all!
Please join us on Saturday February 19th from 1:00pm – 6:00pm to celebrate Matt’s life. Gathering at Rosetown American Legion 700 County Road C Roseville, MN 55113. If you wish wear Minnesota Wild attire to honor Matt’s love of hockey.
