Obituary of Edith Krouse Anderson

Edith Krouse Anderson, age 89, of Duluth passed away Tuesday, January 25, 2022.  She was born 1932 in Hibbing, MN to Wilfred and Esther (Maki) Antilla.  She was raised primarily in the Duluth area, and attended Denfeld High School.

Edith was employed for over 20 years at Lake Haven Manor.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Robert A. Krouse, Sr. in 1981.  After 16 years of independent living involving travel with her children to Europe, Asia, the West Coast and Hawaii, she married Harvey Anderson in 1998.  They were active in Bethlehem Lutheran Church of Proctor.  He preceded her in death in 2017, after nearly 20 years of married life together.

Edith is survived by her twin sister, Esther Miller; her four children, Robert (Haw Cha), Jo Ann (Herbert Sally, Jr), Trish, and Katherine; four grandchildren, Jennifer V., Christine, Zachary, and Jennifer S.; nephew, Darrell (Jean) Miller; nieces, Nancy (Greg) Dickenson and Mary Jorgenson; her seven step children, Keith (Claudia), Andrea (Bernie McGovern), Kurt (Jean), Kim (Kirk Sorensen), Kerry (Cindy), Karole, and Adrienne (Paul Bisping); 21 step grandchildren; and 21 great-step grandchildren; and her lifelong friend, Mary Kivisto.

A Funeral Service will be held Monday, January 31, 2022 at 3:00 p.m. at the First Memorial Funeral Center, 4100 Grand Ave., Duluth with a visitation at 2:00 p.m.  Masks are required.
