Obituary of Kenneth S Ryan

Kenneth "Ken" S Ryan Jr, 82 of Jacobson, MN was promoted from life on earth to the eternal on January 15, 2022 while surrounded by his loving family. He was born April 18, 1939 in St. Paul MN. He joined the US Air Force in February 1957 and served his country for 4 years. Ken married the love of his life, Arlene Powell, August 31, 1963.  He worked as a truck driver and was a Teamster for Local 120 for 30 years. 28 of those years were with Witte Transportation. He eventually gave up his 18 wheels for a broom and vacuum cleaner, when he went to work for the Forest Lake Area School District #831. Ken was a Master Mason and member of the Garnet Masonic Lodge no. 166 for over 50 years. He retired from the school district in 2003 and moved to Jacobson, MN to "play" in the woods and work on projects that brought him great joy. He was also a member of the Jacobson Community Center where he made many new friends.

Ken will forever be loved and remembered with great fondness. His gentle demeanor and presence was a gift to all who knew and loved him. He was preceded in death by his parents Kenneth and Florence Ryan and sisters Mable Pepin and Rosemary Connelly. He is survived by his wife, Arlene; children Michele (Marty) Goodale and Kevin Ryan; sister LaNay (Wayne) Ryan-Sanford; grandchildren Danielle (Donald) Dougherty, Erin Goodale and Jamen Goodale; great granddaughter Katherine "TJ" Dougherty; and many wonderful nieces and nephews.

A celebration of Ken's life will be announced at a later date.
