Obituary of Patricia Louise Dobson
Patricia Louise (Horrigan) Dobson of Duluth, Minnesota, passed away peacefully at St. Luke’s Hospital on Wednesday, January 5th after a hard-fought battle with Covid. Patricia was born in Duluth, MN to parents Eugene and Harriet on July 16, 1940. After graduating from Denfeld High School, Patricia joined the United States Navy where she worked in Communications. While she was in the Navy she met Richard Dobson, with whom she had 5 children. After leaving the Navy she traveled up and down the East coast, living in New York; Williamsport, PA; San Juan, Puerto Rico; and Charleston, SC while raising her 5 children and supporting her husband’s Naval career. In 1970, after a divorce, she returned to Duluth with her 5 children and worked for the Hoover Company; in the Coffee Shop in the Duluth City Hall; as a telemarketer for the Fingerhut Corporation; and did childcare. While living in Duluth, Patricia met Richard (Oscar) Dwyer who became her life companion until his passing in 1997. Patricia was preceded in death by parents, Eugene and Harriet; brother Terrance Horrigan; ex-husband, Richard Dobson; and partner Richard Dwyer. She is survived by her brother, Dennis Horrigan, children Charles, Christopher, Cynthia, Curtis, and Jamie; Grandchildren Nicholas, Eric, Julia, Michael, Adam, Sean, Josh, and Allyson and 10 Great Grandchildren. A funeral service is being held on Monday, January 17 at the Cremation Society of Duluth at 4100 Grand Avenue, Duluth, MN. 55807. Masks are required.
