Obituary of Terry Millikan
Terry Millikan, 78, of Knife River MN, lost her decades-long battle with depression on Monday December 20, 2021. She was born in Rochester MN on August 12, 1943. Terry’s prolific career as an artist spanned thousands of miles from Oaxaca Mexico to the Mojave Desert and Coachella Valley and finally to the Twin Ports on the shores of Lake Superior where her paintings brought joy to countless friends and patrons. Terry possessed a penchant for making others happy, whether it was through her artwork, a pure joy of cooking and entertaining, writing simple notes of gratitude, or just giving a hug. Anyone who was blessed enough to enjoy her culinary talents will remember her for her creative prowess to whip up a masterpiece from scraps in a cupboard. When was the last time you experienced Poulet sauté Madame Renoir? We all wish that she could have seen herself as boldly, beautifully, radiantly, and lovingly as we viewed her.
Terry lives on through her partner Lawrence Jones of Knife River MN, son Sean (Torri) Murphy, daughter Bridget (Vladimir) Raltchevsky, brothers Jeff and William and families, grandson Dylan, granddaughters Ashley Jasmine, Lila Hailey, and Trinity Michaela, and her many friends and chosen family.
Terry always loved a great party. There will be a celebration of her life at a later date (Summer 2022) at Lizzard’s Art Gallery in Duluth, MN. Memorials in her name to benefit mental health and stable housing for women can be sent to:
Grace Place, 414 W Superior St., Duluth MN 55802.
