Obituary of Sheldon Walter Smith

Age 79, of Shoreview, MN Passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on January 9, 2022. Sheldon was born on November 2, 1942, and died from complications of Alzheimer's Disease. He is preceded in death by his parents Sheldon and Hildegund Smith. Sheldon will remain in the hearts of his wife of 42 years Janice; and children Stephen (Jo Dee) Parent, Cheryl Gehrke, Pamela (John) Baker and Sheldon (Lisa) Smith; grandchildren Brittany, Damian, Derek, Stephanee, Claire Frances, Grace Anne, Madelynne, Sophia Terese, Charles and Noah; and several great grandchildren; siblings Greg, Christine & Paul. Sheldon graduated from St Agnes high school, enlisted in the Navy serving locally at Fort Snelling and finished his career in sales. Passionate about antique cars, motorcycles, watching the sunset on Pelican lake, grandchildren's activities and anywhere his loving wife was. Sheldon will be remembered for his kindness, gentleness, contagious smile and beautiful blue eyes. As a resident at the Veterans Home in Minneapolis, his family gives gratitude for the compassionate care that dignified his final years. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St Vincent de Paul Catholic Church 9100 93rd Ave N, Brooklyn Park, MN on Monday January 24th at 10:30 with visitation one hour prior and luncheon to follow in church hall. Thank you GPA for taking us on golf cart rides, spinning us off the tube and helping us catch the biggest fish at the dam, we love you.
