Obituary of Violet Elaine Heins
Violet Elaine Heins, 71, known by many as Punky, passed away December, 21, 2021 at home with her family by her side after an unfortunate battle with cancer.
She was born September 10, 1950 to Lloyd and Melvina (Wevley) Amelsberg.
She was confirmed at First Lutheran Church in Morris.
After high school, she worked at Fingerhut until it’s closing in the 1970’s.
She began her nursing career at the Villa of Saint Francis. As she worked nights she attended school and graduated at the top of her class as an LPN. She spent the next 42 years of her career caring for many residents of Morris.
She was a lifetime member of the VFW, a 35 year member of the American Legion and was associated with multiple organizations.
She is preceded in death by a brother, her sister, loving husband and many aunts and uncles.
She is survived by her two sons, Scott, Stacy (Kristi), six grandchildren and 11 1/2 great-grandchildren-all of whom she loved with all her heart.
Her wings were ready, but our hearts were not, and she will be missed more than words can say.
In lieu of flowers, family asks donations be made to her favorite charity, the ASPCA.
A memorial service will be held at 2pm on Saturday, January 22, 2022 at Faith Lutheran Church in Morris.
