Obituary of Nancy Jean Veeder
Nancy Jean (nee Runcie) Veeder, 84, of Inver Grove Heights passed away peacefully at United Hospital, St. Paul on Thursday, December 16, 2021. Her family was by her side. Nancy “Jean” was born in Le Mars, Iowa on September 21, 1937 to James and Mary Gay Runcie. She attended Le Mars High School and Westmar College, where she met and married Earl Veeder. They had made their home in Hermantown, MN., raising 4 children. She was active in boy and girl scouts for many years. She is a graduate of the College of St. Scholastica with a Bachelor’s Degree in Health Sciences. Jean enjoyed traveling, musicals, gardening, dancing and her grand children. She was of strong faith and a member of Kehilat sar Shalom in St. Louis Park. She is survived by her children, Troy of Rio Rancho, NM; Nonnie (Melissa) of Duluth; Parris (Jackie) of Stillwater, MN; Cassandra (Tim) of Savage, MN; brothers James Runcie of New Mexico and John Runcie of Le Mars, Iowa; Grandchildren David and Julia of New Mexico, Suzanna of New York; Lauren, Grace and Jackson Veeder of Stillwater, MN; and Ian Hoffard of Savage, MN. She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Mary, and sister, Joann Culler. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
