Obituary of Bill Ziemski
Bill M. Ziemski, 71 of Duluth, MN passed away unexpectedly at home Wednesday, December 8, 2021.
He was born July 19, 1950 to Leonard and Jenny Ziemski.
Bill lived in Duluth his entire life. He graduated from Central High School in 1969. He married his high school sweetheart, Lynne Plachecki, and they were married for 48 years. He spent his youth as a ski jumper at Chester Bowl and was part of the Junior Olympic Team. He worked for 40 years at Murphy-McNeil in Duluth, a family-owned company. He was an avid gardener and loved sailing/boating, cooking, Lake Superior, and living on Park Point. He was proud of the deer shack he and his sons built. Bill lived with integrity, loyalty, honesty, and truthfulness. He was hardworking and his handshake was gold.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Leonard and Jenny; and brothers John and Larry.
Bill is survived by his wife Lynne; his three sons Zachary (Lisa Gudowski) Ziemski of Duluth, Nathan (Kelly) Ziemski of Blaine, MN, Jacob (Kelly) Ziemski of Duluth; brother Gale (Sue) Ziemski of Duluth; sister Elaine McKay of Perkinston, MS; brother-in-law Larry Plachecki of Duluth; five grandchildren that were his pride and joy (Zarley, Zander, Vivian, Leonard and Gordon); loving extended family of cousins, nieces and nephews; and his dog Morgan.
MEMORIAL SERVICE: 2pm Visitation, 3pm Service on Thursday, December 16 at Cremation Society of Minnesota Duluth Chapel 4100 Grand Ave, Duluth MN 55807.
Bill was a lover of gardening and took great pride in tending to his flowers, plants, and yard. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you grow your favorite plant or flower this spring in his honor.
