Obituary of Julie Ann Conway
Conway, Julie Ann (Lay)
Age 60, of Savage, MN, passed away November 28, 2021, after 9-year courageous and spirited battle with ovarian cancer.
Preceded in death by her beloved mother, Betty Ann Lay. Survived by her husband Tim, daughter Laura (AJ) Jahnig, son Sean, father William Lay, siblings Susan (Craig) Spetman and Dan (Patty) Lay, and numerous in-laws, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Julie cherished family and friends. She touched countless lives with her heart of gold, resilience, humor, love, and zestful spirit, and looked for the positive in the negative. She turned a passion into a career with a travel planning business and loved travel, talking about travel, knitting, music, theater, dogs, goats, sheep, highland cows, otters and any other cute and funny animal. She also adored fall colors and holidays; the Christmas season was her absolute favorite time of year.
We are so grateful for all the family, friends and caregivers who gave and continue to give their care and support to Julie and others suffering cancer and other medical and wellness challenges. You are appreciated. Julie brought cancer survivors together as a founding member of the Chemo Chicks ovarian cancer support group; the members were so very important to Julie and gave her reason to rise each day.
Julie’s wish was to be cremated, and an in-person memorial service will not be held at this time, due to Covid concerns. In lieu of flowers and memorials, please consider donating to the Minnesota Ovarian Cancer Alliance at mnovarian.org or 4604 Chicago Ave, Minneapolis, MN 55407.
