Obituary of Patricia Bigelow
On Wednesday November 24 2021 our beloved Patty peacefully passed away. This news caught us all unprepared. Patty was someone we all thought of as an enduring, permanent part of our lives. In our hearts she always will be.
Patricia Ellen Bigelow was born in Zumbrota, Minnesota on June 2, 1952. She grew up with her parents and older brother Jim on a farm just north of Rochester and graduated from Pine Island High School. Patty's mother was the secretary to the pharmacy at Rochester Methodist Hospital and Patty logically decided to become a pharmacist. She attended junior college in Rochester for 2 years and was directly admitted to the University of Minnesota College of Pharmacy at age 20. She was licensed as a pharmacist in 1975 and served the community in that capacity for 43 years. Declining health prompted Patty's retirement in 2015. Despite those limitations, Patty persevered and enjoyed her final years with the love and support of her husband John Albers and son Jason Albers, along with many treasured friends.
Patty was a person of great courage and persistence. She sincerely valued other people and maintained friendships over decades. You are warmly invited to sign the guest book and share comments and experiences. For a photo gallery, visit Remembering Patty
