Obituary of Barbara Jean Monssen

Monssen, Barbara Jean (Melquist) Age 81, of Bloomington, passed away on November 21st, 2021. Barbara was born October 25th, 1940 and graduated from Southwest High School in 1958. She later graduated from the U of MN with a degree in social work, and worked for Lutheran Social Services until 1976. She is preceded in death by parents Stanley and Alma Melquist. Survived by devoted husband of 53 years, Lawrence V Monssen; daughter Corey (Dominic) McMahon; son Eric (Nicole) Monssen; grandchildren Chloe, Logan, Campbell and Delaney; many nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends. Visitation at Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd, (4801 France Ave., Mpls.) at 10 am Friday 12/3, with funeral services to follow at 11:30 am. Funeral service live-streamed at: goodshepherdmpls.org/… beginning at 11:15 am. Interment Fort Snelling National Cemetery for a later date.
