Obituary of Bruce Conley Henricksen
Bruce was born February 26, 1941 in Faribault, Minnesota and died October 21, 2021 in Duluth. He was preceded in death by his mother, Janet Engstrom, his father Donald Henricksen and son, Teag Henricksen.
He taught English literature and writing at Loyola University in New Orleans for 25 years. His academic writing was in the vein of post modernism. In around 1995 he read and reviewed (for the Times Picayune) a critique of post modernism—“Higher Superstition” by Gross and Levitt, and gave up academic writing in favor of fiction.
Bruce was a devoted golfer with a beautiful swing and often played with Zach Taran, reported Bruce’s hole in one at Enger to the DNT.
He is survived by his wife, Viki, son, Frederic, daughter, Jessica, and two grandsons, Paul and Thomas.
