Obituary of Lowell R. Larson

Age 90 of Minneapolis, born April 24, 1931 in Annandale, MN to Ole and Esther Larson, passed away on November 16, 2021. He graduated from South High School and proudly served in the US Army in Korea.  Lowell worked at Cloverleaf Creamery and as a Maintenance Engineer at Kennedy High School and Group Health where he retired at 65. After retirement, Lowell volunteered at Hiawatha Golf Course maintaining and taking out the carts for 21 years and enjoyed golfing daily with his other retirement buddies just as the sun was coming up. He was a sports enthusiast; enjoyed boating, water and snow skiing, golf, bowling and was always in attendance to his kids and grandkids sporting events.

Lowell and Luella bought their first home on 26th Avenue and lived there for 65 years before moving to Havenwood Senior Living in Richfield . Lowell lived in independent living and Luella in memory care for the past 3 years. They had a time share and did a lot of traveling to Hawaii, Mexico, Arizona and Lake Tahoe. Family members were always invited for fun vacations. They had a cleaning service for 15 years after office hours, at Group Health and employed many of the neighborhood kids. We have endless memories of the cabin at Kandiyohi Lake with relatives and friends.

Lowell had a radiant smile, a warm hello for everyone he met and a heart of a servant. He was loved by everyone who had the privilege to meet him.  Lowell’s life was centered around his family and will be greatly missed by his loving wife, Luella of 68 years, children; Vonnie(Brad), Vicki(Conrad), Wayne(Anne), Scott (Patti); 11 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; sister Joyce Howe and numerous nieces and nephews, relatives and friends. Highlighted in Lowell’s Bible 2 Timothy 4:7- I have fought a good fight, I have finished the race, and I have remained faithful.

In hopes that COVID will be behind us, a Celebration of Life will be held at a future date in the spring of 2022. A private family interment will be at Ft. Snelling National Cemetery.

Additional pictures from family can be found on tribute wall.
