I met Rose, or Rosie as we called her then, in first grade at Immaculate Conception School in Lonsdale, Minnesota, and we stayed friends throughout her life. I loved the slumber parties at her house, and in the summer, sitting on her front steps eating tomatoes fresh from the garden with a shaker of salt. We both attended high school at Bethlehem Academy, riding the bus for a long hour each way. After high school, we kept in touch, a high point being organizing grade school reunions for several years. These were hard work, but great fun as we planned each detail. In recent years, we would get together for lunch at Pannekukkun restaurant, where Rose usually fulfilled orders for family members. Since COVID, we hadn't been able to get together but would stay in touch through email.
Rose was a caring person who loved to talk and laugh. I will miss her very much.
