Obituary of Maxine Joyce Coty
Maxine Joyce Coty
Mackie (94) died peacefully on November 8th, 2021 . Born February 12, 1927 to Eleanor & Arthur Johnson. Mackie lived in St. Paul her whole life.
She was preceded in death by her mother & father & her sisters, Elaine Johnson DeYoe & Diane Wells
Mackie was an avid tennis player & golfer & loved to socialize with her family & friends. She was an accomplished hostess & you never left her house hungry. Mackie turned her tennis ‘hobby’ into a real career. She managed the St. Paul Indoor Tennis club for many years & helped launch the Arden Hills and Eagandale Tennis clubs. If you played tennis in St. Paul in the last 40 years, there’s a very good chance you knew Mackie.
Mackie was also a talented watercolorist and was always up for playing bridge.
Mackie is survived by four children & their spouses: Pam Coty, Paula (Gerry) Stimmler, Scott Coty, Steve (Pearlee) Coty; grandchildren, Elizabeth Stimmler, Paul (Kecia) Stimmler-Rehkamp, Anna Coty & Lauren Coty; greatgrandchild – Jovie Mack Stimmler-Rehkamp.
She is also survived by special nieces – Valerie Conway & Judy Alfaro & her good friend Kathy Green.
A date for a celebration of Mackie’s life will be forthcoming.
