Obituary of Bruce J Blancher

Bruce J. Blancher, 97, of Duluth, went to meet his Heavenly Father on October 29, 2021. He was born in Carson City, MI on December 17, 1923.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lloyd and Pearl Blancher; one brother; Hollis; two sisters; Elizabeth (Marion) Halleck and Theodosia (Donald) Grinnell; his wife of 45 years, Helen (Spalding) Blancher; and stepdaughter Susan (Molitor) White.

Bruce is survived by his loving wife of 33 years, Alice (Molitor) Blancher of Duluth, MN. Bruce’s Michigan family, daughter Dawn (Dennis) Bryde; sister-in-law, Margaret Blancher; two nephews, three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Bruce’s Minnesota family includes, two stepsons, Fred (Judy) Molitor and David (Jill) Molitor; step son-in-law, Lars White; five step-grandchildren, 13 step-great-grandchildren and extended family.

Bruce proudly served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II and later became a General Contractor. Bruce and Alice moved from Florida to Duluth in 1995. Bruce designed and built their home overlooking the St. Louis River when he was 71 years old. There they enjoyed entertaining and watching the abundant wildlife. Bruce’s mind remained sharp his entire life. Bruce will be sadly missed.

There will be a private family celebration of life.
