Johnny was born in Lakeville Connecticut May 15, 1937, son of John and Gertrude. This guy lived an adventurous life! At the young age of 14 he began flying lessons, soloing at age 16. He was awarded his private license at age 17, then on to Purdue Flight School, where he was a major Standout Pilot! His first job was with North Central Airlines. John was drafted into the army where he served as a military police. Following his service, he joined Republic Airlines and retired 39 years later after many flights enjoying his passion.
Johnny was urged to attend a BLIND DATE, where he met the LOVE of his Life – Karen! They met at AppleBees – Johnny pursued Karen with fervor. Two months later they were an item! He knew how to get Karen’s attention with a limo ride to the Medina Ballroom. Many more fun dating adventures to follow – Johnny ALWAYS being the perfect gentleman. Karen and Johnny were married for 27 years of fun, friendship and partnership. They each had their loves – Johnny had friends at the Fleming Field Terminal, where he ventured out each day at 6am and 1pm – to share stories with long-lasting friends. The neighborhood always recognized Johnny’s suburban on his way to greet the friends. Karen has her loves also – tennis, parties, the hangar, boating and lots of laughter with many friends and family.
Johnny was also a Home-Body – He loved his home, his pets (most recently Amber the dog), his cocktail at 5pm at home or on the boat overlooking the St Croix River.
Johnny leaves his memory and loving ways with Karen, his loving younger brother Jerry, sons- Peter & Christopher. He also is remembered and loved by Karen’s family – brothers, sisters, in laws, nieces and nephews –and the numerous loyal, loving friends. There are MANY!
