Marilyn A. Manley
Marilyn Manley of Fridley passed away on October 31st at the age of 85, with her family by her side. Marilyn had defeated cancer several times in her long life, yet it had continued to return resulting in the cycle of life to take its course and provide for her assent into heaven.
Marilyn was born in Minneapolis on January 28, 1936. She grew up in SE Minneapolis, where she lived until married in 1955, moving to Fridley with her new husband Jerry.
Preceded in death by parents Clarence and Viola Anderson, brothers Ray, Howard, Gordon, Gary, and son Mel. Survived by husband Jerry, and children Michelle, Mark, Melinda, Matthew, and Martin, and many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Marilyn graduated from Marshall High in Minneapolis in 1954. After graduation Marilyn worked as a Research Technician for General Mills, yet soon after she met her husband to be Jerry and that marriage changed her career path to her favorite vocation of motherhood. Once all the children were teenagers, Marilyn returned to work becoming a Manager at Lee Wards craft store. She later became the HR Manager at Harmony Engineering, where she worked until retiring in 1999.
A Celebration of Life Visitation is planned for 10:00 AM on Saturday November 13th at The Church of St. William in Fridley MN, with the Funeral Service to follow at 11:00 AM. A Luncheon will follow the service at Noon, also at The Church of St. William.
In lieu of flowers, the family would prefer donations in her memory be made to the Salvation Army or The Church of St. William.
Interment of Marilyn’s ashes at Ft. Snelling National Cemetery will be at a later scheduled date.
