Obituary of Ted Joseph Micken

Ted Joseph Micken, 53 years old, of Duluth, MN, was born April 16, 1968 to Victor and Maxine Micken. He died October 26, 2021 at Essentia Health Duluth. Ted was married to Juliann Micken since June 16, 2001.

He was employed by Kolar Toyota as a lot attendant.

Ted volunteered at the Haunted Shack for several years, President of the Farwest Horseshoe League, also played horseshoes for the Checkerboard Bar in South Range, Captain of the American Legion cribbage team, played Monday night bowling at the Incline Station, loved to sing karaoke at the V.F.W., often attended the MAC-V meat raffle at the Eldorado Bar and Grill.

Ted was survived by his wife Juliann Micken; his siblings Donald (Joyce) Block, Mark Micken, Mary Ellen Stevens, Chris (Janice) Kunze, Pearl Meyers, and Mary Jensen; brother-in-laws Vernon Stevens, Thomas Rutka, and Dan (Tammy) Rutka and many nieces, nephews, and friends who were family to him.

He was preceded in death by his parents Victor and Maxine Micken; siblings Richard Block, Ronald Block Sr, Mike Hansen, John Micken, Edward Huser, and Vicky Berg; and nephews Richard Rutka and Ronald Block Jr.

The visitation will be held from 5pm to 7pm on Friday, October 29th, with a funeral mass will be held on Saturday, October 30th at 10am with a visitation one hour prior to mass, both services will be at St. Elizabeth’s Church at 610 99th Ave West, Duluth MN with Fr. Rich Kuntz officiating.

Private Burial will be at a later date.
