Obituary of Carol Jean Johnson

Johnson, Carol Jean (Schumacher)

of St Louis Park, MN passed away October 17, 2021, at the age of 79 after a long battle with chronic health conditions.  Born February 9^th, 1942, Carol grew up in North Minneapolis and graduated from St Anthony High School in 1960.  She then attended vo-tech school and became a cosmetologist at Mr John’s Hair Styling in Richfield, MN.  She later opened a salon in her home where she continued to serve her customers for many decades.  An avid Vikings fan, she met Steve “Crazy” Johnson of Cloquet, MN at a pre-game party.  They were married in 1972 and in 1976 were blessed with the birth of their daughter Stephanie.  Carol was fun-loving, quick-witted, and had a great sense of humor.  She was the “Queen” of hosting fabulous parties enjoyed by all who attended.  Carol was active in her local church, loved to travel, play cards, crosswords, and bowling.  She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Evelyn Schumacher.  Carol is survived by her devoted husband, her daughter, sister Patricia (Silas) Prok, and many loving nieces, nephews, and friends.  Visitation at 2PM, service at 3PM Friday November 5, at the Cremation Society of MN, 7110 France Ave S Edina, MN.  Reception to follow at Bunny’s Bar & Grill 5916 Excelsior Blvd, St Louis Park, MN.  In lieu of flowers, please participate in an act of kindness to a friend or stranger in memory of Carol.  Memorials preferred to The National Kidney Foundation.
