Obituary of Arnold Fritz Swanson

Arnold Swanson, 89, of Duluth, MN passed away on September 26, 2021. Born in Moline, IL, Arnie was raised in Duluth where he graduated from Denfeld High School and the  University of MN, Duluth with a degree in accounting. In 1956, he married Shirley Halverson and they were blessed with three wonderful children. Arnie became a partner in the CPA firm of Stillman, House and Swanson. He and Shirley loved riding his motorcycle and when retired, enjoyed being snow birds in Sun City West, AZ.

Arnie is preceded in death by his parents, Fritz and Anna, and grandson Tom Swanson. He is survived by his wife, Shirley, children Marie Swanson, Nancy Koehler, and James (Patty) Swanson, five grandchildren and five great-grand children. The family would like to thank St. Luke’s hospice for their care and compassion.

A celebration of Arnie’s life will be held at a future date.
