Obituary of Nicco Lea McDonald

Nicco Lea McDonald, 42, of Duluth, lost her short but fierce five month battle with cancer at home on Saturday October 9, 2021. Nicco was born in Duluth MN, July 17, 1979 to Thomas and Geordis (Bowen) McDonald. After graduating Duluth Central High School in 1995 and receiving her Barber/Cosmetology certificate from WITC Superior in 2005. Nicco was able to fulfill her passion to help people look and feel their best by working as a licensed cosmetologist/Master Stylist in many different solons and spas in the Duluth/Superior area, culminating as a self-employed cosmetologist at the 506 Salon. Nicco was an Aesthetic Consultant with Essentia Health’s Skin Care Renewal Center at the time of her death.

Nicco was preceded in death by her mother Geordis. She is survived by her father Thomas; Brothers, Earl (Tori Hanson), Alan (Sara); Nieces, Meg, Lucy, Gabbi; Nephew Jace; Best friend Amber and many very special Aunts, Uncles, Cousins and friends.

Nicco touched the hearts of many, her strength of character, beauty, charm and kindness, will be sadly missed.

Visitation: 9am, Service 10am, Friday October 15, 2021 at the First Memorial Chapel, 4100 Grand Ave. 11:30am Reception to follow at the American Legion, 5814 Grand Ave. Interment will be at Park Hill Cemetery, Duluth. In lieu of flowers, the family will have all donations gifted to the Essentia health Infusion Center in Nicco’s memory.
