Obituary of Kristine Leigh Uter

Kristine Leigh (Williams) Uter, age 51, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family and friends on Sunday, September 26, 2021, after a long battle with cancer.

Kris was born on February 22, 1970, to Nelson and Yvonne Williams in Fairmont, Minnesota. She was baptized in the Christian faith at the Community Baptist Church of Truman, MN. She graduated from Truman High School in 1988. She continued her education at the University of Minnesota, St. Paul where 1993 she earned a Master’s in Landscape Architecture. At the University of Minnesota, she was an active member of Beta of Clovia and was a FarmHouse Sister, and created friendships that endured throughout her life.

After graduation, she moved to the Waverly area to start a family. She was blessed with two very devoted children, Mackenzie and Zachary. They were her everything. She loved watching them play sports in high school, on traveling teams, and at college. Kris also enjoyed creating beautiful flower gardens are her home in Howard Lake.

Kris was employed by Otten Bros for 19 years. In 2015, she made a switch to work for RAM General Contracting. Even though these careers were very different, she loved working with the great people that she called coworkers and friends.

Kris was always willing to volunteer her time to organize HLWW traveling basketball, coach HLWW FFA Nursery Landscaping Teams or help at the United Methodist Church of Buffalo where she was a member. In her free, Kris enjoyed scrapbooking, doing crossword puzzles, working in her gardens, listening to audiobooks, and watching Gopher sports. Most of all she loved spending time with her family and friends.

Kristine was preceded in death by her mother, Yvonne Williams.

Surviving family members include her children Mackenzie (Zachary Hegseth) Uter and Zachary (Jordyn Tuchtenhagen) Uter of Howard Lake. Father, Nelson William of Truman and now Bursnville, Minnesota and brother and sister in law T.J. (Dani) Williams, nieces and nephews, Jordyn, Jayden, and Ella Williams of Truman and many dear friends

Please join family and friends in celebrating her life and legacy. Visitation will be on Sunday, October 3, 2021 from 4-7 and service on Monday, October 4, 2021 at 11:00 am, both at Buffalo United Methodist Church in Buffalo, MN. Blessed be the memory of Kristine Leigh Williams Uter.
