Obituary of Dale Allen Theel

Dale Allen Theel, 90, died Monday, September 20, 2021 at the Zumbrota Nursing Home, with his family by his side. Dale was born August 4, 1931 in Rochester, MN to Fred and Ida Theel. Dale grew up in the Rochester area and met Wanda in 4H in 1948. Dale and Wanda (Tvedt), were married on June 24, 1950, in Rochester. Dale and Wanda moved to Babbitt, MN in 1955 where Dale worked for Reserve Mining Co. as a mechanic for 20 years. In 1961 they purchased land in Embarrass, MN and built a home. Dale was a busy, hardworking man. In 1966 he started Theel’s Poultry Farm and sold eggs to the local stores. He also raised beef, pigs, and had horses for the kids. He started Custom Hauling and delivered feed to area farms. He owned some semi's and started Theel’s Trucking and drove over the road. Dale collected antique cars and loved to take family and friends for rides. Dale was always ready to lend a helping hand to others. When he finally slowed down, Dale and Wanda became Snowbirds, and wintered in Punta Gorda, FL. In 2001 Dale purchased a MCI Bus and converted it into a motor home and they drove the  bus to Florida for many winters. Dale is survived by his wife of 71 years of marriage, Wanda (Tvedt); children, Robert (Tammy) Theel of Wanamingo, Dean (Jean) Theel of Nenana, AK, Toni Theel (daughter-in-law) of Embarrass, Sharon (Paul) Foster of Utica, Julie Robinson (Rueben Scheffler) of Zumbrota, and Annette (Steve) Nicholas of Prior Lake. 16 Grandchildren, 21 Great Grandchildren, 8 Great Great Grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Elaine Hart, son, Danny, grandchildren; Dayle Ann, Jody, Geoffrey and Sam. Funeral services will be at 1:00 pm, October 2, 2021 at Minneola Lutheran Church, 13628 County 50 Blvd, Goodhue, MN 55027. Pastor Ben Morgan and Pastor Hannah Bergstrom de Leon will be officiating. Visitation one hour prior to the service with coffee following. Burial will be at a later date.
