My condolences to the Lundberg family! Coach Lundberg introduced me to wrestling in 1980 in Cairo at CAC. I always remembered the patience and true coaching he brought to the mat every day. I fell in love with the sport and introduced it to my sons and they will bring it to the next generation. I had the privilege of Scott and Todd as teammates and learned from them as well. Heaven has another great man as a coach. Peace be with his family!

So sorry to hear of the loss of your beloved Dad. He was one of my Lundberg cousins, but I didn't have the good fortune to know him well when we were young. We reconnected - too briefly - while following the football careers of grandsons, destined to play against each other - sometimes seeing each other at Northwestern College in Roseville and sometimes at Martin Luther College in New Ulm.This was an unexpected pleasure and a precious reminder of how fast time flies when we're not noticing. Your enjoinder to "love your families" in lieu of a memorial is a tribute to the kind of upbringing Gene provided to you - his family. We pray that this God of Love, who guided Gene during his life, will continue to give you comfort during this time of loss - and strength in the days ahead as you relate to your families. I am so very sorry to learn of Gene's passing. Our years in Cairo provided us with the opportunity to be friends. These memories are ones I truly cherish. Having Gene and Donna as professional mentors was terrific. Gene's integrity was second to none and his sense of humor always lightened the unique challenge of life in a developing country. Gene and Donna were certainly terrific parents. Their sons are outstanding young men in no small way because of their loving steady influence. My life is better having known Gene and his family. I am so very thankful he touched my life. My thoughts and prayers are with you at this difficult time of immense loss.
