Obituary of Marla K Hunt
Marla Hunt was born on February 26th, 1950 to Erno and Frances Domenichetti, in Virginia, Minnesota. She passed away on August 22, 2021 at West Wind Village in Morris, Minnesota, after a short stay in hospice with her children by her side.
She graduated from Hibbing High School, cosmetology school, and Hibbing Community College. Later in life, she furthered her education at the University of Minnesota, majoring in psychology.
On February 14, 1973, Marla married David Hunt in Bristol, England. They made their home in Hibbing and raised 3 children: Jennifer, Tammie, and Bradley.
Marla moved from Hibbing to Herman, Minnesota in 2003. She was active in her community as a member of Morris Evangelical Free Church, worked at VBS crafts at Bethel Lutheran Church in Herman, and was a volunteer at the Herman Library. She enjoyed seamstressing and often sent quilts to veterans. She also enjoyed spinning yarn on her spinning wheels, sewing, tatting, embroidery, cross stitching, lace making, and formed a children’s knitting club at Herman School.
Marla is survived by children: Jennifer (Brian) VanKempen-Craynon of Herman, MN, Tammie Konstenius of Babbitt, MN, and Bradley (Brett) Hunt of Minneapolis, MN; dogs: Daisy and Cooper; grandchildren: Brody Konstenius, Kellsie Konstenius, Caleb Hunt, Carynne VanKempen, Caleigh VanKempen, Harleyjo VanKempen, Cody VanKempen, Edward Craynon, Brady Craynon, and Brittanie-Anne Craynon; and sisters: MaryJo Domenichetti and Jill Domenichetti. She was preceded in death by son-in-law Dennis VanKempen (2013) and granddaughter Charlotte-Anne VanKempen (2015).
An informal Celebration of Life will be held 1:30-4:00 on Saturday, September 18, 2021 at Bethel Lutheran Church in Herman, MN. Guests are encouraged (but not required) to bring photos or stories to share. As it was Marla’s wish for the event to not be a dour or somber affair, guests are encouraged to dress casually and colorfully, keeping in mind that Marla’s favorite color was purple.
Marla’s remains will be scattered at the various secret locations she requested.
