Obituary of Barbara Jean Kresal

Barbara Jean Kresal, 96, died on Thursday September 2nd at St Luke’s Hospital, Duluth following a short illness.

Barbara was born on August 16, 1925 in Baraboo, WI to Leonard “Bud” and Myrtle (Sponnick) Cleveland. Her family moved to Minnesota when she was a child and she graduated from Duluth Central High School in 1943.

Barb worked for many years for Dr. Charles Wilkinson before retiring in the 1980s to care for her mother. She was an avid sports fan, always rooting for her Vikings and the Wild, she was active in her church, enjoyed staying fit with her friends at Curves in Superior, and loved traveling to visit family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents,  son Robert Kresal of Minneapolis, and daughter Marilyn (Brian) Borich of Duluth. She is survived by her brother, Robert Cleveland of Palm Desert, CA, her son Richard (Linda) Kresal of Grand Rapids, and numerous nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. 

There will be no public memorial. Barbara will be interred at Park Hill Cemetery.
