Obituary of Gordon Robinson Charles

Gordon Robinson Charles age 65, of Edina, passed away August 28th, 2021 after a courageous 10 months with pancreatic cancer. He was a wonderfully joyful, generous, and faith-filled husband, father, and friend. His enthusiasm for serving Jesus touched many lives. He was an active Stephen Minister and an English-language teacher at POBLO in Bloomington. He generously supported those who are reaching others through Christ and was an eager volunteer at many church events and mission trips.

Gordon is survived by wife of 35 years, Susan Charles; children, William Charles and Caroline Selness (Austin); sisters-in-law, Sarah Kane (Mark) and Kris Scharping; brother-in-law Thomas Anderson (Linda); and dear nieces and nephews. Visitation Wednesday, September 8th 6-8pm and memorial service Thursday, September 9th 11am at Cross View Lutheran Church 6645 McCauley Trail W, Edina, MN. The family requests that you please wear a mask. The service will also be livestreamed and archived at https://www.crossview.net/worship/media.cfm.

Memorials on Gordon’s behalf may be given to Cross View Lutheran Church, POBLO (a ministry for local immigrants), or LINC Twin Cities, (equipping local leaders to bring hope to our city).
