I had a terrible feeling she had passed and no one informed me. Today I simply did a search of her only to find, to my great sadness, she is gone. It makes me feel as yet there is another void in my life and of so much lost time with my family. I will miss her Mike Biere

I had the privilege of knowing your wonderful mother as a beloved and life long friend of my mom, Jeanne Werling. Some of my fondest memories of my youth are when your parents, Nilssons and Beekens would come to Tipton for a long weekend. Oh my, the house was filled with laughter! I also had the privilege of hosting your mom, my mom, Mary Nilsson and Kathy Beeken in St. Simons Island, GA several years ago. The bond of friendship these women shared was incredible! Oh how we all laughed! I had so much fun - maybe even more than they did! I am sending my love to you all and my gratitude to your mom, for being such a wonderful friend to mine. I had the pleasure of knowing this sweet and a little sassy lady for a short time, but it was memorable. I have thought of her many times since we met and admired her unique approach to life and willingness to make friends at unlikely times and places. Oh where do I begin? Her weekly hair appointments at Givan’s were the highlight of my week. She would round the mall corner and tap on the Givan’s window with her cane to get my attention. When she smiled her eyes twinkled. I would greet her and say goodbye to her always with a hug. I would hold on as long as I could drinking in the scent of her Liz Claiborne perfume. She called me sweetie and I genuinely loved and adored her. On one occasion specifically I asked her how she was when she arrived for her appointment. Her response shocked me, “I’m happy as hell” and I laughed soo hard! I can’t imagine the blessing she was to her family and how devastating her absence must be. My prayers are with all who loved her and are grieving her loss. Thankful that she is now forever pain free and with those she loves and went on before her. She was truly one of a kind❤️

Patty is my cousin on the Pettit side. She attended several family reunions of which my wife and children attended. I usually was working and missed many reunions. I remember her brother Tom of NBC News at reunions that I did attend. She lived a GREAT life I am sure!
