Obituary of Martin G Strecker
Age 82, of Lindstrom
Martin passed away peacefully with his family by his side July 30, 2021, after a battle with Parkinsons and Lewy Body Dementia. Martin was born February 5, 1939 in St Paul MN. He graduated from Washington High School in 1957, attended Hamline University and served in the army from 1958 -1962. On October 7, 1961 he married the love of his life, Martha Haase. He retired from Quest in 1992 after 30 years. He and his family lived in Shoreview until they retired and then moved to the country to enjoy retirement and he could work on all his projects. His greatest joy was his family. He loved coaching and watching his children and grandchildren in all their activities, deer hunting with family, traveling the U.S in the Winnebago and being an all-around handy man for all requested projects.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 60 years, Martha; children, Deborah (David) Nelson of Mankato, Michael (Tracy) of Apopka, Florida, Jeffrey of Hugo, Thomas of Lindstrom; grandchildren, Amanda and Anthony Nelson, Nicole and Zachary Strecker, Adam Strecker; brother-in-law Fred Haase of Flagler Beach Florida; sister-in-law, Margaret Strecker of Mounds View Minnesota along with many relatives and friends. Preceded in death by his parents, Ernest Sr. and Amanda Strecker; brother, Ernest Strecker Jr.; sister and brother-in-law Joan and David Zettervall.
Funeral services are Saturday, August 21, 2021 at 11:00 am with visitation at 10 am at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 37515 Park Trail, Almelund, MN. Military honors following the service.
