Obituary of Deborah (Hanson) Gagner

Deborah Gagner (Hanson) of Hermantown, MN passed away peacefully at home on July 28, 2021 at the age of 69.

Debbie is survived by her husband, Eugene; children, Sarah and Alvin Torgerson, Rachel Carroll, Jacob and Megan Gagner, Joseph and Jenny Gagner, and Rebekah and Jerrod Daigle; nine grandchildren, Joshua, Noah, Hannah, Victoria, Benjamin, Andrew, Keagan, Janessa, and Lance; siblings, Gail Hanson, Terry Hanson, Wesley Hanson, Jeffrey Hanson, Bruce Hanson, and Phyllis Forrestal. She is preceded in death by her parents, Verna and Wesley Hanson, her brother Michael Hanson, her niece Melissa Forrestal, and her great- nephew Travis Hester.

Debbie was a beloved mother who stayed home to raise her five children, then proceeded to use her Elementary Education Degree for the Hermantown School District until retirement. She was a classroom aid and the Science Lady. Debbie worked and volunteered for various activities including: Girl Scouts Leader, Directing Summer Theater, Sunday School Teacher, and Science Club.

Debbie was devoted to her family and they remember her as a calm steady presence who encouraged them to pursue their goals. She was greatly loved and will be dearly missed.

A celebration of Debbie’s life is scheduled for Tuesday, August 3, 2021, at Grace Lutheran Church Hermantown, MN, with a visitation at 10 am, service at 11 am and a reception to follow. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Debbie’s life.
